What are the safety protection measures for top-discharge centrifuges?

1. Explosion-proof and Fireproof Design

Inert Gas Protection System: Equipped with a nitrogen protection device, linked to an oxygen content detector, it automatically shuts down when the oxygen concentration exceeds a safe threshold (e.g., >8%) to prevent flammable gases from mixing with air and forming an explosive atmosphere.

Nitrogen Replacement Process: Before startup, the air inside the machine must be replaced with nitrogen to ensure the oxygen concentration drops to 1%-2%; during liquid injection, the floating liquid and washing liquid are continuously protected with nitrogen to prevent air from entering.

Nitrogen Pipeline Design: A normally closed solenoid valve is used to ensure uninterrupted nitrogen supply during power outages.

Explosion-proof motor and electrostatic grounding

The motor is designed to be explosion-proof to prevent explosions caused by electrical sparks.

The entire equipment is electrostatically grounded to eliminate electrostatic sparks generated by friction or impact.

The fully enclosed casing prevents material leakage. The casing material (such as stainless steel) must be corrosion-resistant and impact-resistant.

The top-discharge centrifuge installation area is independently set up, separated from other production areas by a fireproof solid wall, and equipped with pressure relief area and forced ventilation facilities.

2. Operating Procedures and Safety Interlocks

Strictly adhere to the "Stop-Replace-Inspect-Operate" procedure. Unauthorized feeding without replacement, opening the cover under pressure, and operating without grounding are strictly prohibited.

Control the feeding amount and ensure even feeding to prevent eccentric operation that could cause the drum to rub against the casing and ignite.

Install an interlocking cover plate protection device at the feed inlet: the equipment cannot start when the cover is open, and the cover cannot be opened while the equipment is running.

Emergency Stop Button: Located in a prominent position, allowing for rapid power cut-off in case of abnormalities.

Install a speed limiter to ensure the speed does not exceed the maximum safe speed indicated on the nameplate.

Set a maximum pressure limit for the hydraulic system to prevent overpressure operation.
